In Treatment of Bacterial infections Aarfol M Syrup is an antibiotic medicine given to children for the treatment of a wide range of bacterial infections such as tooth abscess, gum infection, pneumonia, diarrhea, dysentery, peritonitis, burning sensation while passing urine, and certain genital tract infections. This medicine inhibits the growth of infection-causing bacteria by stopping it from multiplying. You may start seeing an improvement in the infection within 3 to 5 days of regular dosing. But, you must still finish the full course of the medicine and never stop it abruptly by yourself as that may worsen your child?s condition or cause infection recurrence.
Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Check the label for directions before use. Measure it with a measuring cup and take it by mouth. Shake well before use. Aarfol M Syrup may be taken with or without food.

What should I tell the doctor before giving Aarfol M Syrup to my child?::: You must tell the doctor if your child is suffering from heart disease, seizures, psychiatric disorders, diabetes, photoallergy (allergy from sunlight), neuromuscular disorders, rheumatoid arthritis, or genetic disorders involving blood vessels. This is because there is a possibility that Aarfol M Syrup may aggravate these conditions and result in complications.| Can Aarfol M Syrup be given along with cough and cold medicines?::: No, do not give Aarfol M Syrup with cough and cold medicines. However, if you think you have given too much to your child, immediately speak to a doctor. Rush to your child?s doctor if you notice any of these symptoms.| What should I do if my child shows no improvement even after taking Aarfol M Syrup for the prescribed duration?::: It could mean that Aarfol M Syrup is unable to kill the infection-causing bacteria. In such a case, visit your child?s doctor who may prescribe some other antibiotic that has a higher efficacy against the disease-causing bacteria. However, children taking antibiotics should not get vaccinated until they recover from the illness. As soon as your child feels better, the vaccine can be given.| My child has been passing red-brown urine ever since he started taking Aarfol M Syrup? Is it normal?::: Aarfol M Syrup contains active ingredient metronidazole, which causes red-brown urine. It is not pathogenic but a side effect. It subsides once the medicine is stopped after the completion of the treatment.
Aarfol M Syrup is a combination of three active ingredients. While two of its ingredients, namely ofloxacin and metronidazole are antibiotics, simethicone is a gas-absorbing agent that improves gastric tolerability of the combination. The antibiotic ingredients interfere with the genetic material of bacteria by impairing its DNA. This kills the infection-causing bacteria, preventing its growth and stopping the infection. On the other hand, Simethicone binds with the gas bubbles produced as a result of the other two ingredients or as a result of some other problem. By doing so, it aids in the removal of gases and provides relief in stomach pain and bloating.
