Manidrop-G Infusion is a combination of two medicines. It is used in the treatment of cerebral edema. It works by drawing water out of the tissues in the brain and decreases swelling around the brain. Manidrop-G Infusion is given as an injection under the supervision of a healthcare professional. Do not try to self administer the injection until you know how to inject it. Your doctor will decide the exact amount of dose, hence follow your doctor advice while taking the medicine. The medicine is generally safe to use with no common side effects. Take caution while taking medicine if you are suffering from liver or kidney disease. Your doctor should also know about all other medicines you are taking as many of these may make this medicine less effective or change the way it works. Inform your doctor if you are pregnant, planning pregnancy or breastfeeding.

Manidrop-G Infusion is a combination of two medicines: Glycerin and Mannitol which treat increased pressure in the skull/brain. Mannitol is an osmotic diuretic which draws water out of tissues in the brain and decreases swelling around the brain. Addition of Glycerin prevents the swelling from coming back which may possibly occur with plain Mannitol.
- Alcohol : CONSULT YOUR DOCTOR - It is not known whether it is safe to consume alcohol with Manidrop-G Infusion. Please consult your doctor. - Pregnancy : CONSULT YOUR DOCTOR - Manidrop-G Infusion may be unsafe to use during pregnancy. Although there are limited studies in humans, animal studies have shown harmful effects on the developing baby. Your doctor will weigh the benefits and any potential risks before prescribing it to you. Please consult your doctor. - Breast feeding : SAFE IF PRESCRIBED - Manidrop-G Infusion is probably safe to use during breastfeeding. Limited human data suggests that the drug does not represent any significant risk to the baby. - Driving : SAFE - Manidrop-G Infusion does not usually affect your ability to drive. - Kidney : SAFE IF PRESCRIBED - Manidrop-G Infusion is probably safe to use in patients with kidney disease. Limited data available suggests that dose adjustment of Manidrop-G Infusion may not be needed in these patients.
